A FEW PICS AS I RUN ACROSS THE USA

I just ran N844X from South Carolina to Oregon for maintenance and upgrades.

OK I also stopped by new York on my way back from a business-trip to Europe.

I came across a few things that are interesting, that I would like to make better in X-Plane, some in N844X on the way TO Oregon, some in an airliner on the way BACK.

Here they are.

Flying into the mountains in N844X: Look at how the TREES interact with the TERRAIN and the SNOW.

Look at how the evergreens pop put above the snow looking solid, and the seasonals are just trunks and branches:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then look at how the roads sort of INTERACT with the terrain.. the terrain was FLATTENED. The roads don't just sit on TOP OF the terrain.

How dark is the SHADOW of a cloud? THIS DARK!

 

 

 

How dark can it be under a heavy cloud? THIS DARK!

 

 

OH CRAP! A TACO TRUCK ON EVERY CORNER! OUR WORST FEARS ARE COMING TRUE!!

(oh wait.. the taco is good... MMMmmmmmm...)

 

 

This is what rain looks like from the air. I want that in X-Plane.

 

 

And when you get really close:

 

I hate the way the runways just have sharp edges in X-Plane... it look like graphics from the year 2000. Here is how I WANT it to look!

 

 

In Oregon for upgrades to my airplane. Trying to figure out of this sign applies to me.
